A Guidance booklet for the Emergency Services and An Garda Síochána is available on the Guidance area of this website. 

 

This booklet has been prepared by the Air Accident Investigation Unit (AAIU) in order to assist and inform these personnel who are generally the first trained persons to arrive at an aircraft accident site. This Guidance will assist those personnel in better understanding the essential procedures that need to be followed in the aftermath of an aircraft accident, as well as the many hazards that may exist at aircraft accident sites, in particular military accident sites.
